Byron Bay Lighthouse & the Most Easterly Point in Australia
5 ways to get to the lighthouse:
There is a bush track that starts opposite Captain Cook car park. If you want less people we suggest you follow the Bush Track. It's a nice walk though open forest with some great views.
The Main track is the best walk to see surfing, dolphins, stingrays and WHALES in season. It starts at the Pass Car Park or Palm Valley and you walk around the headland and beaches.
Walk up the road: The worst way because of the traffic, but probably the quickest.
Drive yourself - only 24 car parks and it can get very busy and it costs to park.
Taxi: If it is too far or you to walk or you have mobility issues you can catch a taxi up and walk back or taxi both ways.
Byron Bay Lighthouse has the best views in the area of the beautiful beaches and hinterland, with Mount Warning or Wollumbin in the distance. Brunswick Heads and the beautiful Brunswick River can be seen and is only a 20 minute drive north of Byron Bay.
The Bruns, as the locals call it, is the area’s best river and can easily be enjoyed by everyone on an multi-award winning Morning or Sunset Eco Rainforest River Cruise for a relaxing, nature based experience and learn about some of the local history, stories and environment as well as viewing amazing wildlife.
